An international cooperation project coordinated by the Ribera Consortium and funded with €2 million from the European Commission to create a waste management system in a district of the island of Sao Tome and Principe, including the capital, with the aim of improving environmental policies in the area, preventing degradation and health problems caused by uncontrolled landfills, and at the same time combating poverty by creating green jobs through the creation of four small community composting stations and two recycling stations so that the population can see the results of the collective effort in selective collection and in supporting the creation of companies that promote the use of resources and, in this way, the circular economy.
